50 Facts About Me// Tagged Post
A fellow friend/ blogger of mine, Keisha, tagged me in a post where I basically have to give you all 50 facts about myself (hence the title). I think it's a great idea because it gives people, who read my blog which I am very grateful for, more knowledge on me as a person. I wrote an introduction a year ago now which basically gives an overview of me, but not in too much detail. So, I'm using this tag post as an opportunity for you guys to get to know me a bit more...
- I love to read, I don't have many favorite authors because many of the books I have read have just been one-time-things for the authors who wrote them, but if I had to choose some regular authors who I love, I'd choose Jodi Picoult and Michael Morpurgo.
- I'm a really family orientated person. I'm determined to be married and have a child by the time I'm 26, which seems scary because I'm 18 already.
- I read everything out loud until I was about 6 years old. When it came to reading a book, I always used to read it out loud because I hadn't learnt about 'reading in my head'. I'd seen other people do it and I thought it was because of some magic power they had. I learnt how to do it when I was reading Jack and the Beanstalk at the top of my voice (I had a really loud voice) at 6am, so my mum came and told me how to do it.
- I'm the most indecisive person you will ever meet...Over the space of a year, I've changed my mind about what I want to do for a career several times. But, I'm finally set on becoming a primary school teacher and part time model (if I get accepted by an agency).
- I'm a hopeless cook I love naan bread and we always have it in the freezer. It's like my second favorite snack after plain crackers. I found a frozen naan bread and decided to let it defrost in the microwave. 3 minutes went by and smoke started emerging. Mum had to buy a new microwave and the house stunk of decomposed naan breads for the rest of the day.
- I love history I come across as really dim to all my friends, and have had the odd blonde moment with Tom. But, I've always loved history and actually know quite a few things about it too, especially modern history. If you ever want to take me on a day out, just drag me along to The Imperial War Museum, North (Manchester). Favorite place ever.
- I used to love writing reviews at an early age... Call me a nerd but I loved going on school trips when I was at primary schools, because it always mean I got to write a review on it. I was seriously the pickiest kid ever and always took note of everything. This one time we went to a museum and I was writing about how hygienic the toilets were. I was six...and taking notes on toilet hygiene. Odd.
- I'm so clumsy Tom sometimes has to pull me around shops, I'm so prone to knocking things over or falling in to something. The first thing my mum says to me when we walk into a plate shop, or somewhere where there is delicate materials she always says 'just you be careful'. The cheek...
- I used to cry at that sucky noise people made when they'd finished their drinks at Macdonalds.
- I used to do horse riding I was terrified of all animals but quite happy to get on a stocky horse/pony. The farm I used to go riding at had the stables at the top of there drive, and half way up the drive there was a chicken pen we had to walk past and I made my mum carry me past them until I was about 10. But, I had to stop when I started secondary school because my lessons were on Saturdays normally and the secondary school I went to had Saturday school. I had the option of going on Sundays but it would have just been too exerting and my parents decided against it. I hope to start again soon.
- I hate birds. Alive or dead. Purely because of an experience I had when I was through Morrisons car park at the age of 5 and this fat pigeon came flying at me. They look evil. I also hate walking past dead birds, as I live in the country and have to walk through fields. Whenever I see a dead bird I get dead (pardon the pun) freaked out because there's something sinister about it.
- I make out I am a tough cookie, but in fact...I cry at the smallest emotional thing. Tom and I walked out of Argos one time and someone had tied up their pug puppy outside, so I went to give it a fuss then we had to go and it just stared after us. Broke my heart...
- I'm so easy to amuse Seriously, I've had to rewind bits in Despicable Me and Toy Story because the smallest thing has set me off and I want to re-watch it because I laugh more.
- I was inspired by a film to be a primary school teacher. Not a deep, sentimental film. Oh, no. But 'Nativity!', a Christmas film about a primary school trying to make a nativity play.
- I hate mash potato It makes me retch whenever I eat it. I've tried to eat it loads to be polite but it never goes to plan. It's actually made me sick a few times, too.
- I, like any person, love music My favorite bands/artists are probably Asking Alexandria, Kaiser Chiefs, Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Of Mice and Men, Pierce the Veil and so many others I can't think of at the top of my head.
- I love 80's music This is mainly influenced by my dad. Last summer we sat out in the garden and he got really excited over the fact I had Spotify so got me to play loads of his favorite songs. Throughout my life he's got me into bands like Tears for Fears and UB4O.
- I love musical theatre Mum and I used to go to a show every summer and I loved it. I find musical theatre so uplifting and it's a great day/night out. There's some examples I've seen as films, too. My favorite shows are probably Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd, Billy Elliott, Cats and West Side Story. Billy Elliott has to be my all time favorite though.
- I love going to gigs I've been to about 5 since I was 14 and lost my gig virginity to All Time Low. I've seen Example twice, Ellie Goulding and Asking Alexandria since then. There's so many other artists I'd like to say for both the music and the atmosphere. I'd love to see Real Friends, Pierce the Veil, Of Mice and Men and Keisza. I'd love to see 5SOS too but apparently you can barely hear them sing because the room is always full of screaming girls.
- I love piano music too I find it so relaxing and it puts me to sleep really well. Tom introduced me to a piece called I Orgini and we both love it.
- I love pugs If you couldn't tell by my blog URL, I am truly obsessed with this breed of dog. I'm in love with any dogs that have dopey, soppy faces. Pugs happen to be my favorite. I'm aiming to get one when I'm rich enough. Tom and I are set on getting a boy pug and calling it King Julian.
- I'm not a hardcore feminist but...I hate being cat-called and have derogatory comments aimed at me. Unfortunately I live in a small town and it's full of weird, old traditional Brit kind of people. I can't go to the shops or gym without some weird old man making a comment and it's scary.
- Video games scare me at night I love sitting on my PS3 when I have some good games in, but I can't play on my PS3 in the late hours of the night because for some reason I get freaked out, especially Rockstar's historic games like LA Noire because some of the art work is just dead creepy.
- I suck at romance I love showing affection and stuff in my relationship, but I could never watch a Nicholas Sparks adaptation, or quote things to him or come out with corny stuff. I'm so blunt about my feelings. I prefer cute to corny. Cos the corny in The Notebook and films like that makes me cringe. I truly love Tom but I think we both find certain aspects of other people's relationships dead weird and cringe-worthy when it comes to this kind of thing.
- I love old gang films I hate witnessing violent behavior , but I love old films about gangs, drugs and violence. My favorites are probably Trainspotting (1996), Green Street and Rise of the Footsoldier.
- I prefer clubs to pubs So I turned 18 in December and it was time for me to start exploring what I enjoyed regarding nights out. I came to the conclusion I preferred clubs so much more. I've only been to one, about twice and it's amazing. I prefer going out to have a good time and a bit of a dance with friends (despite how bad I am, it takes a few drinks to get me going) rather than sitting on the same chair making small talk all night.
- I went for 3 years unable to make eye contact It wasn't until last summer that I could communicate with strangers, my counsellor and acquaintances whilst making eye contact. I've suffered with social anxiety for four years and I was so bad at communicating with people and making small talk. It took me about two minutes to work out what was appropriate to say/ask in a conversation whilst staring at the floor.
- I can't stand pretentious stoners My pet peeve is people begging it because they smoke weed. And also, songs like 2 on where the singer is saying the 'tree is too strong'. It irritates me and I can never explain why. I suppose it's because people think they're all high and mighty for breaking the law.
- I plan my wedding when I'm bored So far I've come up with my first dance song, the dress I want to wear and the cake and venue I want. And perhaps the reception playlist...
- I wear glasses to read and play on my PS3, edit photos etc But I think I left them at Tom's...
- I love artificial flavorings such as bubble gum flavored ice cream and also blue raspberry. Note that in case you take me to Skeggy or another British beach,
- I love food I always feel guilty after pigging out, but I just love food. My favorite meal is chicken nuggets and fries. Such a big kid
- Despite being 18, I still need to mature...In some things I do, I'm so childish. I love stuff like coloring in and have the attention span of a two year old.
- Lana Del Rey is my style icon I love how she wears boyish clothes and makes them look so feminine through hair and makeup, then when she needs to make the effort she looks like an absolute goddess. I aspire to be like her.
- I get incredibly grumpy when I'm hungry And I mean a nightmare, I snap at everyone until I get food. The same applies for when I'm tired. So when you next see me in a bad mood I just need sleep or food.
- I'm terrified of snakes I don't know whether it's a rational fear or not, because I know loads of people who are fine with them and even think they're 'cute'. Personally I think that's insane. The eyes, skin and their movements just terrify me. Especially fat snakes like anacondas, they make me feel sick. The thumping noise they make when they fall from a tree or something alone makes me want to cry. I hate walking into pet shops too, because I have visions of a snake finding it's way into my bag. A friend of mine even tried to help me conquer my fear of snakes by putting on 'Snakes on a Plane' and I ended up throwing up out of fear.
- I'm actually very easy to talk to I come across as blunt and rude to strangers sometimes, as I have a very defensive mechanism. That doesn't mean stop talking to me, keep starting conversations and at some point you will realise I'm not mean, I'm fluffy!
- I love horror films Despite being easily spooked, I love ghost films and anything that will make me jump. My favorite horror films are probably The Woman in Black, Insidious and Orphan.
- I was a really fat baby When I was born, I was 9 lbs. Until I was about 5, I was a very podgy child. I don't think there's a photo of me without ice cream in my hand or around my face from when I was little. There's even a photo of my mum, George and me sitting down at a café somewhere, George is holding his ice cream, I've presumably stolen a bite of it, judging by the mess on my face. I'm also just sat there reaching for it, smiling. Piggy.
- I love people watching It sounds really judgmental but it's something Dad and I do when were sitting in the airport and he comes out with some of the funniest things. Sometimes it's scary though because he has a loud voice and I get worried someone might hear him and tell us off.
- Summer is my favorite season I love winter because of Christmas, but hate the weather and snow. Summer is so much more fun, you can do more and I feel so much more healthy. Winter is the time where I eat crap, have groggy skin and all that lovely stuff.
- I've never broken a bone Despite being so clumsy, I've never actually broken a bone or suffered a horrific injury.
- I've only been sick once due to alcohol consumption I went to Turkey for the first time two years ago. I'd just finished Denstone and wanted to live a little so I drank every night with a group of people my age, some a bit older. One night I drank way too much, I made it to my room and was almost at my door then was sick. Other than that I've been alright which I'm strangely proud of. It's not really a good look, being sick out in the open because of booze.
- I hate my hair I know it sounds so ungrateful but my hair is literally a mess. I had like 2 good hair days last year. It's so easy to get it tangled and I get so frustrated when I'm brushing it.
- I'm scared of chainsaws Another irrational fear I suppose. I hate the sound of chainsaws and it's not because of the horror films I've watched. There's something about the noise it makes, I just hate them.
- I listen to rap when I'm angry And I'm normally only angry when I haven't been fed. My favorite angry artists are Big Sean (one song by him in particular), Eminem and Earl Sweatshirt. Earl Sweatshirt sometimes just makes me more angry though because he swears too much and I find it unnecessary.
- I love drawing I'm more associated with photography by my friends but I love drawing and painting. My drawings aren't always realistic though, they're more pop-arty. I'm not talented enough for the realistic stuff.
- I love Jack Daniels I'm the most un-experimental person when it comes to booze at parties or nights out. I always stick with Jack Daniels and coke. I used to love WKD when I was younger but I think it tastes like bubble bath, now.
- I'm a really messy eater I have great table manners but for some reason I end up with crumbs on my forehead, spaghetti at the other end of the table. I'm terrible and it gets really embarrassing. I don't even understand how it happens.
- I play guitar Not often and only adequately. I am really bad when it comes to committing to things like practicing. I used to play piano too, and my tutor encouraged me to give up because I never found time to practice and I have a really bad tremor so I kept slipping up loads.
I hope you found this blog post interesting, it's all factual and took my like 2 days to do because I just couldn't think of anything interesting. I'm a pretty boring person in reality but I hope you enjoyed learning new things about me. I don't really know many other bloggers, Keisha has tagged all the ones I know but I tag Tom.
You can read Keisha's post here. I recommend that you read her other posts too, she's a great writer and is featured in my 'Favorite Bloggers' page.
Stay safe, have a brill weekend xo
