Opinion on the Beau Miller Hype

I'm literally lost for words.

A sadistic 'joke' from narcissist, Beau Miller, was posted on Twitter 10 years ago and has recently come up again on tumblr as he is being viewed as a potential rapist. This 'joke' is contained in the photograph above.

"Prom? Say 'no', I'll rape you"

Let's just get across to people what rape really is. Rape is a mental,  and physically torturous act on the victim. It can impact the victim, whether it's a girl or a boy, for the rest of their lives. It has caused suicides when rapists have been found 'not guilty' due to the unfortunate lack of evidence that can be provided in the victim's defence. It causes severe mental illnesses such as paranoia and PTSD. So why on earth should anyone be making jokes about it?
With all due respect, soldiers come out of wars with PTSD. They have shown great courage. We don't make jokes or give them a bad stigma due to the mental repercussions they face when coming out of a war. War and rape are both traumatic incidents. If someone were to make a joke about a soldier coming back from war with PTSD, their would be a social uproar, wouldn't there? Because it would be absolutely disgusting. It's just as disgusting joking about rape and sexual assault. These issues require the same amount of bravery to get through them. They are both as traumatic as each other.

The anger I have for this Beau Miller child is astronomical. It is intimidating women into going against their wishes. So what if they don't want to go to prom with this guy? After this post, I wouldn't want to look at him, let alone spend a night with him!

As criticism to his invalid and disgusting opinion on rape...

1. "It's just a dick in your hole for a few minutes"

Yes, a big fat non-consensual dick. Sex is supposed to be for two people who love each other very much or for mutual satisfaction between two people. Beau, you make it sound as though victims should just tolerate it and get over it. Whether it's violent or not. Along with all the consequences including a possible unwanted pregnancy, PTSD and any physical damage that may have come from results of physical abuse such as getting beaten down.

2. "It's nowhere near as bad as murder, cancer or getting the eyes from a fat chick"

Rape is equivalent to these things and getting the eyes from a "fat chick" isn't bad. You, sir, will be lucky for getting the eyes from anyone with your disgusting opinions on women. Cancer is a horrible disease and takes lives, as does murder. Yes, some people find certain things worse than others but it isn't fair on either cancer or rape victims to categorise them as to who is suffering worse. People adopt to traumatic incidents and illnesses differently. Rape, in my opinion, is equivalent to murder. It can metaphorically take the life out of someone and even induce suicidal thoughts and acts. It is emotionally draining and can affect someone for the rest of their lives through vivid flashbacks and nightmares. Sadly, like many horrible incidents people go through, they are very hard to forget.

3. "Women can't be raped since the vagina is designed to accommodate cock"

The vagina is designed for urination, reproduction and giving birth to children. The reproduction and love making a woman receives should ALWAYS be consensual with a loved one, hence why the traditional phrase for sex is 'making love'. On another hand, if a woman decides to remain celibate for her life then her vagina isn't really there to 'accommodate cock'. That vagina belongs to someone. It is not up to you to strip someone from their own wishes and choices just so you can get some form of sickly pleasure out of it.

4. "Only men can be raped"

Anyone with an anal or vaginal passage way for the penis can but shouldn't be raped. This is both men and women. No one, no matter what sex they are, should ever experience rape or sexual assault/harassment.

5. "Rape isn't a big deal. It's just a typical female exaggeration to get attention"

Rape is a very big deal and I cannot stress that enough. This is because of the physical and mental consequences a victim can suffer either during or after the attack. It is a very, very real issue and should not be ignored, joked or spoken about in this nature. How can something that happens every day in every country be an exaggeration? No one would use this issue to get attention considering so many people keep quiet about it due to the negative stigma that surrounds it. If someone was to speak out about it, it would be for the power of good. To help other victims or to report it so attackers don't get away with it and are put where they belong. Behind bars. Rape is a very big deal. It happens to children, men and women across the world. No one should suffer from it.

6. "They all fantasise about it so they actually enjoy it"

How is this utter twat supposed to know what women fantasise about? I guarantee not even 1% of the world's population would fantasise about it due to the implications that come after it, unless there was something very wrong with them of course. That's like saying soldiers enjoy getting shot. Drug addicts enjoy painful relapses. Children enjoy child abuse. No one in their right mind would enjoy or fantasise about something that inflicts so much pain.

7. "They just want to trade their victim status for luxuries"

Another ridiculous presumption and analysis of a victim of rape. If anything, victims sadly stay silent about these incidents. When coming out about it, victims would rather get through the process of telling their loved ones or authorities as quickly as possible so they can progress through therapy in order to try and get rid of the horrible memories ASAP. There are charities that support rape victims and survivors. They do not give us clothes or jewellery. They give us the best luxury possible after such horrible traumas. A trained professional to listen and help us, and support from our loved ones when we need it most.

Rape is no laughing matter. I hope this utter twat bag gets caught and learns his lesson the hard way. This uneducated opinion does not justify rape or sexual harassment in any form what so ever. Think before you act and treat others with respect. Rape is not respectful and has serious consequences. Stick to having sex with someone you love rather than turning it into abusive behaviour.
Sadly, many comedians still find it amusing to make jokes about these issues. For example, Frankie Boyle, Jimmy Carr and Dapper Laughs. Even if they're only "joking", it isn't acceptable. It is putting a serious issue in a positive light.
A warning to my Facebook friends...if you put any content on your page that promotes or supports sexual violence, don't expect me to want to stay in contact. You will be blocked and reported. Rape and sexual harassment need to end and that cannot be done if people still think it is acceptable to joke about it.
And if you see this post, please do whatever you can to remove or report it. No one should have to see this.

Enjoy sex with loved ones only, not vulnerable victims, take care xo
