Derby Book Festival @ Waterstones// Tuesday 12th January 2015

Waterstones gave a great kick-start to the new year , for all those who love literature, by hosting Derby Book Festival on Tuesday 12th of January. I went by to see what was going on and to take a few photographs.

Lauren Barnes, 17, is reading Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks.  The book tells the tale of a woman, Erin, escaping the clutches of her abusive husband who accuses her of murder. After changing her identity, she finds love and safety with Alex and instantly bonds with his children, Lexie and Josh. Lauren says 'I like this book because it really draws you in. You feel a lot of empathy for Erin. I love how Sparks builds connections between readers and his characters,'

Xaffie Evans, 17, says she believes it is important to read as it can further your education and extend your vocabulary.

Peaceful reading...

Popular creative journal, Wreck this Journal, has been going for years. It's aim is to inspire creative expression among teenagers and young adults.
