Tom's 20th Birthday | Lifestyle
Hello, everyone!
I'm sure many of you know who Tom is by now, considering he's mentioned in almost every post on this blog.
If you've been living under a rock or on another planet for the last year and three months, Tom is my wonderful boyfriend who has been looking after me and coping with my madness and insanity. He also turned twenty yesterday (Sunday just gone), so here's a bit of an insight as to what we got up to!
(Apologies in advance for some poor photography, only had my iPad this week!)
The birthday weekend began by a night out in Derby. We went to Jesse's house first for some pre-drinks and Mortal Combat which I was surprisingly good at. Then we went to Mosh and some shabby but cool place called The Hairy Dog. I was pretty scared in both places because of the music, and in Mosh I much preferred the floor that played the dance music, because I stopped listening to rock and indie pop a while ago. But regardless, it was a brilliant night!
The following day we got up at...wait for it...5pm. Disgraceful, I know. Joe kept coming into Tom's room to wake us up but he then left because we just couldn't motivate ourselves to throw off the duvet and get our arses into gear.
On the Saturday night, it snowed which was amazing because Tom lives in the country so we had quite a bit of it.
Both of Tom's cats are house cats, but we took Guss Guss Beane outside on the Sunday (Tom's actually birthday) on his little harness whilst the snow was still thick. He absolutely loved it and couldn't get enough. Although, I think he was grateful when we got back inside and stuck him in front of the fire!
The excitement picked up a bit at the Whittingham's traditional 'party tea', when Sarah put in so much effort to make a lovely raspberry jelly, but it didn't quite go to plan when it came out of the guitar mould! However, it did taste really good and was very more-ish.
We also played pass the parcel, where everyone had there own parcel with their own present in. So, there were six packages altogether. Tom got a tea towel and some bits for his car in his, and I got some beautiful pencils and a lovely necklace!
Elliot, Tom's uncle, also got some football boots that were suitable for the astro turf which was extremely exciting. I think it's safe to say everyone was very pleased with their prizes and will be getting a lot of use out of them.
Charades and 'Who am I?' both went on for about 2hrs each. Mamma went to town again on the headband pieces for Who am I, and everyone's character was hilarious, as always.
Tom was also spoilt with some amazing gifts such as a gym membership, money, some shirts, a red velvet cake, an Iron man mug and sone stationery (which, as you can imagine, I was very jealous of and eyed up a bit). Unfortunately I've been having some issues with websites declining my payments but he will be receiving some gifts very shortly from me. I did feel awful though because I had nothing to personally give him on his special day...
Having said that, I hope he had the most wonderful day with lots of funny and amusing memories throughout. Honestly, it deserves to be this man's birthday every day, even if there are occasions when he doesn't always act his age. I love him very much and cannot wait for many more birthday memories to come!
Grace x
