Hello, humans!
It has been such a hectic month for me! I've had my coursework deadline, a second job interview and a hospital appointment, as well as getting ready for my holiday which is a week today and trying to keep you guys in the loop as to what's going on!
1. Toothless!
This is an incredibly recent happening. After years of being constantly told I was told I am too old for a Build-a-Bear (pffft rubbish!), I was treated to a Toothless teddy, from How to Train Your Dragon by the wonderful boyfriend, Tom! I suddenly turned into an over protective child over this teddy, I have saved the birth certificate and keep it in bed with me. It has become a massive source of comfort, I love him!
2. 'Avengers' cakes
A small one, but my mum made these really cool Avenger themed fairy cakes with a buttercream icing topping and milk/white chocolate stars for when Tom came round with Mamma after a I'd helped out at the local drama workshop. They were so good!
3. Job interview and offering!
The other week I went for an interview at my local private nursery for the job as a relief nursery nurse, and I am proud to say I was given the job. I am now undergoing the online training and assessments to make sure I am ready, all of which I want completing by the time I go away, which is next Tuesday. And then I start the week after I get back. I am still staying at Alton Towers, but I saw an opening for this job and thought I had to take it. And I am so glad I took the opportunity!
Update on Alton Towers: I had my 'second opinion' yesterday, after having a hearing test at work back in February which showed some worrying results in my left ear. This presented questions as to whether I was able to work on loud rides or not, but we said yes for the time being. Yesterday's results showed deterioration in the hearing ability of my right ear too! So I will soon be having to stop working on big rides because of the noise, and instead working on family rides, as there is nothing medically that can be done to stop my hearing deteriorating further.
4. Tom
Tom will always be a monthly and yearly favorite. A life time favorite. It will have been eight months on the 25th of June. Eight of the happiest months of my life. I honestly couldn't picture spending my life with anyone else but him!
5. Orange is the New Black- Season 3
And I thought the second season was intense! This new season is packed with drama and comical moments. I cannot stop watching it, but I need to get a move on with watching it so I can drop you guys a review!
For those of you who don't know, OITNB is a series based off a real life documentary of life in an American woman's prison, mainly focused on the middle class, white inmate Piper Chapman, who was charged with drug smuggling offenses. The series ropes in issues such as sexism, racism, homophobia, mental health issues and social injustice.
6. Jurassic World
I went to see this with Tom and his mum last Friday evening and it was amazing! Probably one of my favorite films. I've never actually seen the Jurassic Park films but this made me want to watch them. The story line was fantastic and kept me engaged throughout the whole thing, which is a massive achievement. Also- the baby dinosaurs were absolutely adorable. I want to visit a baby dinosaur petting zoo and cuddle a baby stegosaurus!
7. Malia!
Although we haven't actually been yet, the weeks and build up are flying by and it's less than a week until we go. There''s so many amazing events lined up for when we go, such as a zombie warehouse party, Phillip George will be performing and a paint party, plus loads more. It will be my first holiday without my family which is pretty scary, but Tom and I will look after each other! I just can't wait to get a tan, party and make loads of memories!
That's it for now guys, I hope you're all enjoying the amazing weather at the moment if you're reading from England. Take care and enjoy your Summer xo
