This Month's Favourites// September

I'm quite new to this type of post but quite a few of my friends do it, along with my spontaneous weekly posts about current issues, rants and everything else I will post, without fail, my favourite things that have occured, that I've listened to, looking forward to etc. every month.

1. Fun.

I know they have been round for absolutely God knows how long, and I didn't like them when I first heard them, but I've really started to like them. There songs have so much depth and meaning when you listen to them. 'Sight of the Sun' has to be my favourite, it's extremely cute, soppy and romantic without any cringey-ness.

2. The Inbetweeners Movie 2

As soon as I saw the trailer for this film I was extremely disappointed. I thought it was going to be a massive let down compared to the first one. I started hearing really good reviews for it and got slightly less sceptical but still wasn't convinced until I finally watched it myself last night (I will be doing a full review of the film on Wednesday!). As soon as I got through it, I felt stupid. I loved every minute of it, the trailer however was very very VERY misleading!

A photo I took last year, Tim Burton themed, of my lovely friend Saskia

3. Photography

I kind of went of it when I wasn't feeling well with my depression and a common side affect of this is losing interest in hobbies. Recently though, my amazing friends have picked me up and motivated me, reassuring me I have a good eye for it. My mum has dragged me out of my house with my camera and I've also been offered a lot more jobs and opportunities with it. I have developed my techniques and improved dramatically at photo-taking. I'm looking forward to the elaboration of my course and learning more about photography as well as making new friends.

4. Kiesza

Another musician. I still love my metal and screamo music but this woman is so gifted, beautiful and has an amazing voice. She's astonishing live too, I thought her voice was too good to be true until I heard her perform 'Giant in my Heart' on the Radio 1 Live Lounge. She definatley has a real and genuine talent. I would love to see her perform live, the atmosphere would be amazing.

5. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Considering it is now the 8th time that I have finished this book, you could say it is one of my favourites. I am actually in love with this story and the themes of it. It is the definition of an epic classic love story. Many people do not like it because the language is a bit dry and flowery, but that is obviously down to the era it was written in. Personally, I recommend it to everyone. But myself? I think I need to move on to another book quite promptly.

6. Lana Del Rey

One of my favourite musicians of all time. She has been a favourite for a while, as many of you will know but I've recently become a bit more fond of her which I didn't even think was possible. This is because I've been able to relate to a lot more of her stuff recently. Usually it was just my 'mood' music, but now it's just music I listen to whenever I have memories about similar stuff Lana has been through. Another reason why she is a monthly favourite is because of her more recent album 'Ultra Violence' which is absolutely stunning.

7. Jack Daniels and Coke

Yes, I am ashamed of myself too. I didn't have my first glass of Jack Daniels and Coke until my seventeenth September on this planet while in Turkey. I absolutely loved it and can now see what all of the hype is about. Again, like I usually am when I try new things no matter how big or small it is, I was a little nervous which was probably down to the fact I was in a foreign, Muslim country being served by a male who can be a bit too generous to the female gender when mixing the spirit with the soft drink. But this one was perfect, and I kept going back for more then my boyfriend at the time had to FaceTime a very merry Liv. Poor guy.

8. Last but not least...my amazing friends and family

Bar one certain person in the top photo of my friends (my ex), I love all these people so so much. They have all been extremely supportive over the past two months and have succeeded in putting a smile back onto my face. There's friends of mine that I love and owe that are not in these pictures and they know who they are (please don't feel left out I love you guys too!). I am in debt to these beautiful people and could not ask for better friends. I can't say it enough but I really do love you guys!

It's stressing me out how I only have eight favourite things this month, it rounds up to ten and I could honestly not think of another two things to put down. But then, eight is a lot of things to rate within a month. Anyways, keep an eye out for Wednesday as my 'The Inbetweeners Movie 2'  review will be ready!
