I'M BACK! | An Update
Hello again (finally) everyone!
I'm aware I've not posted in forever so I just thought I'd give a little update on what the current situation is, what with university and why I have disappeared for so long.
So as you all know in September I was accepted into university. As a result of that I am now up to my eyeballs with deadlines that I am trying to meet. Honestly, university work is such a step up from college work and I am putting myself under pressure to make sure I am performing to the best of my abilities.
I have also had a part time contract with Alton Towers during Scarefest. This has involved lots of training, two weekends and a ten-day run of working. As you can imagine I am extremely worn out (and also have a terrible cold) and need to prepare myself to continue with my studies.
Despite how drained it has made me feel, working on one of my favourite mazes during Scarefest has been absolutely amazing. I got to work alongside an amazing cast and team, whilst interacting with some lovely guests. The management team were amazing and so supportive. I honestly preferred working for entertainments this season rather than ride operations last season. So much so I will be auditioning as a Cbeebies performer in January! I will update you more on my experience as an Alton Towers Entertainment host in my catchup vlog, which I will be filming tomorrow.
So the plan of action over the next week or so is to try and update this blog, as well as my childcare blog, get on with some university work, do a bit of babysitting, spend time with Tom, and go and see The Light Between Oceans (fingers crossed).
I also have a meeting tomorrow regarding a four week teaching placement in Milan for May 2017 which I am very excited for. I will keep you updated about this, as it's going to be a big deal for me and something I cannot wait to apply for. It is very competitive to get on to though, so keep your fingers crossed for me!
On a journey back from Essex the other week to see some nearest and dearest relatives, Tom very kindly bought me the gift of a Go Pro camera which I was thrilled about! This will be used, once I get my hands on a mini SD card, for daily vlogs and other videos for my Youtube channel so you can follow me around and get a sort of day-in-the-life style kind of thing. Fear not though, I will still be discussing mental health and other things.
Thank you for reading this rather garbled update with a bit of a 'random information' overload. I don't want you thinking that I am going to slowly slip out of blogging. I love blogging, but sometimes I just get really busy and can't necessarily fit it into my day.
See you soon!
Much love...Olivia x
