April Favourites

Hello, everyone!

It's been an absolute age since I wrote on here. I had really bad bloggers block and also a tonne of deadlines to get through for my second semester of university. I can't believe I've already completed my first year! Absolutely mad to think that as soon as I am finished, I will be planning my wedding.

I thought I would start my Summer blogging spree (before the university madness starts again) with a monthly favourites post combined with a little catch up of what's been happening recently. There is a lot to catch up on but I will try and narrow it down as much as I can.

Beauty and the Beast

I went to go and see this film twice and have been listening to the soundtrack for about three weeks none-stop now, so I bet you can guess how much I loved it already. The cartoon was easily my favourite childhood film and the live action did not let me down at all! I personally think the directors and cast did a fabulous job of this. I laughed, I cried (a lot) and I think this is easily the best live action Disney film that's been done. I also loved that they had all the music in and had to bite my tongue so I didn't start singing along in the cinema. I also think my parents and Tom are sick of hearing the soundtrack now. Just wait until I get my hands on the CD for my car. Mwahah. Also, the Disney Nerd inside of me was incredibly happy that they included the transformation music when Beast transfers back into the Prince. Ever since I was little, for some reason I found that scene incredibly satisfying and uplifting. Just..wow. I cannot wait to get my hands on the DVD.

A new job..

Here's the catch up element. So since November I had been unemployed because I was only on a short term contact at Alton Towers for Scarefest. So I had been on a mad job hunt since then to get some sort of part time job. And I finally got one at a juice bar in the Derby Intu Centre. I'm so happy there. It's such a small, friendly team and I feel really confident there. I also love making the smoothies and juices, it's so much fun!

A year engaged!

I cannot believe how quickly time has gone! A year ago, on the 4th of April, Tom popped the question. We planned to get married once we had graduated and secured a career each. And the time is flying so quickly. When you're at university the years seem to pass so quickly (apart from deadlines) because you're only really there for six months a year. We are going to start having a look around soon for some ideas, so watch this space!

A year at university

Last August, after finding out I'd got in after three long years at college, I couldn't wait to get started! And now, my first year is finally complete and I am eagerly awaiting my results. I'm worried I have not done as well in this semester's assignments but the first year is the year where you are able to make these mistakes. I cannot thank my tutors enough for their support either. When I started university I was adamant I wanted to be a primary school teacher but after placements and a lot of thinking, I've decided I want to go more into the care side of it. I am now contemplating the MA in Social Work course after I've completed my undergraduate degree. Of course it requires a lot more thought than a simple change of mind, but that's what these next two years are for.

Hair growth

I cannot believe how much my hair has been growing recently. It's almost back at it's original length! Now I have more time to myself rather than studying, I'm going to try and treat it a little more often as it's going to start being a lot of heavy maintenance again (that's the one thing I never missed about having long hair). I can start doing a lot more with it now, like putting it up in pony tails, curling it etc. I can also tell it's getting a lot thicker and more full because whenever I put it in a messy bun it starts falling out and needs re-styling!

****

That's all for now, ladies and gents! I'm sorry these weren't particularly original or exciting monthly favourites/updates. I've not really had chance to purchase or do anything very exciting these past few weeks so hopefully more will come up this month! I hope you enjoy my Summer spree of blog posts. I have lots of content planned and a few Youtube videos planned, too!

Beh-bye!
