Engagement Party, Extra Coursework and Outings

We honestly cannot believe it has almost been just over a week since our engagement party. All that planning, the excitement and the nerves. And now we are counting down the next 4-5 years until we get married!

Our venue was Tom's Grandma's house (Mamma), and we couldn't thought of anywhere better to have it! Not only is it a beautiful home, but it also made the day a lot more personable.
We were thrilled that so many people could attend and celebrate this huge milestone with us, and it means a heck of a lot that our families get along and love each other so fondly. Well, we really are just one big family all together, now.
Speeches were made, by Tom's mother and my Dad, and the bubbly was cracked open. Dad genuinely got quite tearful, despite his placid character, and gave a really heart-warming speech about how much he appreciated Tom for turning my life around and making me happy again. Not just smiling more, but really and truly happy.
I also feel like I consumed way too much food. But then again, we deserved to let our hair down (although I was straight back on Metafit the day after!). Really though, we were just so happy that all our nearest and dearest were there to eat, drink and be merry with us. We wish that party lasted the whole weekend rather than just the Sunday. I cannot wait to tie the knot and experience more happiness, joy and memories with my best friend & soul mate.

Today marks the day where I have completed 99.9% of my coursework. The other 0.1% does not have to be done until September. But, we have been set the task of completing a Numeracy and a Literacy resource folder. I cannot wait to sink my teeth into this and get really arty. I hope to be sharing some photos of my creations with you soon. Maybe some tutorials if I have any followers who teach or even have their own children!
In other news, I'm so grateful to have some time away from college. The fact that I have been in further education for almost three years now is sort of wearing on me a bit. Although a lot of it wasn't really my fault, I can't help but blame myself. But at the same time, I feel that university will be well worth the wait. I'm looking forward to continuing my chosen path of study, experiencing more placement opportunities in a variety of settings, and making new friends for life. Oh, did I mention Freshers? I'm looking forward to that and all the other parties too! Would be dumb not to...

Since the beginning of the holidays, I've also enjoyed some wonderful trips out. First of all, Tom and I ventured down to Markeaton Park to cheer on and support Mum whilst she completed the Pretty Muddy 5K Run for Cancer Research UK. She had worked so blooming hard for it, and trained for nine weeks in advance as well as raising lots and lots of money for a charity that is so close to our hearts. Julia will be proud! Love you, mum x

Tom's step-dad has also returned from the middle-east, so we have been making the most of our time with him by going on loads of different trips. We've been to the Trentham Monkey Gardens, beautiful Blenheim gardens, followed by a relaxing overnight trip to Hull to then go to The Deep Aquarium the following morning.
In addition to this, we have our tickets for Oman to go out and see Tom's step dad (Duncan). We're buzzing with excitement and will be up and away from the 14th to the 24th of December. I have never been to the middle east before, so will be sure to be very snap happy and share a few of the photos with you on here, my instagram, and my photography page.

Yesterday, we returned from Edgbaston where we watched the 20/20 cricket. This was my first cricket match so I didn't really know what to expect. Surprisingly I really enjoyed it once I got the hang of the scoring system and everything. It really isn't that hard to understand if you think about it! I won't go into a lengthy explanation though as I'm sure you're not that interested!
We were in the Warwickshire Suite which was very posh, indeed. And, we got free drinks all day and a delicious, complimentary lunch! We're going to be returning on the 20th of August for the final, so if you're there then let us know!

So that was just a quick update from me! Sorry I haven't really posted in a while. As you can imagine, we've all been very busy with party planning and these outings!

It's been four months since I posted my introduction on Youtube and as you may know, I didn't commit very well. But alas! I have planned a mini misconceptions series for the mental health side of things, and also just scripted out a request. So, at the end of this week and over the Summer holidays I shall be filming, editing and posting in the following order:

5 Things To Do When You're too Anxious to Go Out
10 Misconceptions About Depression: Mental Health
10 Misconceptions About Anxiety Disorders: Mental Health
10 Misconceptions About Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Mental Health
10 Misconceptions About Self-Harm and Suicide: Mental Health

If you want me to post anything else surrounding this topic, maybe even a Q and A or 'Get to Know Me' type video then just keep commenting below and I will try my very best. The more requests, the more commitment I have for the channel.
Please also go show a bit of support on my most recent video I posted a little while back. I get a little anxious about Youtube and making videos so your views, subscriptions and comments really do mean so much to me!

Top 10 Don'ts | Panic Attacks

featuring a not-so-flattering thumbnail photo. If anyone knows how to do those really snazzy, swishy ones that all these pro Youtubers seem to have, let us know for future editing reference please!

My next blog post will also be about Travel Anxiety, followed by a Summer Cookbook. Trying to keep it cheerful, merry and summery over here. So keep your eyes peeled for everything, really.
