October Favorites | Monthly Favourites 2015

As if, the year is almost over already!

The nights are longer and the days are now shorter. Wahoo! I do love this time of year. The leaves, darkness at night, gingerbread latte's...all that jazz!
Because I didn't give you a monthly favourites for September, as I was extremely busy with being an adult and all *sniggers*, I feel obliged to give you an insight as to what's been going on this month.
Also, my blog has been pretty dead and inactive for more than a week now, and I would have burst if I'd have left it any longer without giving you guys something to read.

Anniversary...

First up, as many of you may know (if you're a personal friend or have read the post...or both!), Tom and I celebrated our one year anniversary the other week. This was a whole weekend together, going to the Scarefest, which is where the relationship officially began. It was so lovely to spend some proper time with Tom for the first time in ages, because of education and what not. With regards to how excited we were to see each other, it showed us both just how much our quality time is valued by one another. It was so enjoyable, I wouldn't change a moment of it, or the past year for that matter.

You can read more about the anniversary and stuff here.

Malia

I know this was months ago now, but recently there's been loads of songs coming out that just remind me of the time I spent in Malia with Tom. Stuff like 'Lay it All on Me', by Ed Sheeran and Rudimental, and 'Sweet Loving' by Sigala, just remind me of walking through the town during the day, going to the beach and over indulging on kebabs and ice cream. It's definitely tempting me to save all my money up and go on a nice, exotic holiday next year.

BBC 3 Mental Health Coverage

Recently, BBC 3 have been producing and airing so many intriguing documentaries on so many issues. Mental health being one of them, covered by Professor Green as he tries to piece together reasons behind suicide being the biggest killer of males under the age of 45, as well as trying to figure out why his dad committed suicide. Many people mistakingly stereotype girls as the vulnerable ones, but in fact this is living proof that men are just as vulnerable to suffer from a mental health disorder and suicidal tendencies.

Stacey Dooley's 'World's Most Dangerous Place to be a Woman', BBC 3

Stacey Dooley is without a doubt, one of my favourite journalists and the main inspiration behind most of my serious posts.
In this series, Dooley travels around the globe to discover the most dangerous aspects of life for women in various countries. One of the episodes I watched was filmed in Honduras, Central America, and was based around 'femicide' (mass female murder) as it is one of the most frequent crimes in the country. I was so intrigued as she went into so much detail, speaking to families of victims, exploring the most dangerous parts of the country and even speaking to some guilty offenders to get to grips with why they committed such horrific crimes.
I definitely recommend this program, it is a real eye-opener and honestly makes me feel so lucky and grateful for the life I have.

Scarefest...

I briefly touched on Scarefest when I spoke about my one year anniversary. But let me tell you, Scarefest was a frequent occasion for me this October. I think I went about five times. The fifth and final time was with an old friend, Alisha, who I've literally spent no time with since she was thirteen and I was fifteen. Her boyfriend came too and we just had such a great time. The rides in the dark were probably the best bit as I can't really go on the Scare Mazes. But I just about managed Nox Infernus, as pictured above, and this zombie walkthrough when the crazy chainsaw guy wasn't there.

My new favourite photo ever...
Halloween festivities...

This Halloween was by far my favourite, besides the rush with costumes and stuff. Tom and I, dressed as an abominable snowman and a school girl with a messy face, went to a really small gathering and just chilled eating mini packs of Maltesers, pizza and drinking. Then we got a bit tired and went back to the flat, only to order dessert and watch Adventure Time (come on and bring your friends...).
I don't think you could understand how good it felt to take off that zip after a long night...oh my goodness me it felt amazing.
I think Tom was also grateful for every bit of fresh air he got, considering his costume mainly consisted of a fluffy onesy and my fluffy hat. Plus a ton of face paint!

All in all it's been a brilliant month, and an exciting one at that! I love Autumn, and when it's Autumn it means it's also nearly Christmas!
And wow, that's scary because it doesn't seem five minutes since I was writing last years 'Yearly Favourites Post'!

Ta-Tar!
